John Vandervort

I am seeking information and photo of John Vandervort, who was a native of Schoharie county, N. Y., born January 6th, 1832, and relocated to Laceyville, Wyoming County in 1874.

Also seeking photo of the Vandervort planing-mill located in Laceyville.

John Vandervort was a machinist, when he settled at Laceyville he built a planing-mill where he produced bee keepers' supplies almost exclusively. He was extensively engaged in the bee and honey business and was widely known throughout Pennsylvania and New York as a scientific and successful beekeeper. He was the inventor of several improvements in machinery connected with the business. During his time in Laceyville, he produced an item known as the Vandervort Foundation Mill which was a hand crank machine for making beeswax foundation for beehives.

Vandervort died in March of 1917

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
